Red Tower is really testing my patience. Here's a list of things I noted while reading that made this bad- overuse of a pet name, mc trying to be too cheeky/silly, nearly dnfed on page 12 bc of "poppin off," I think he uses "my star" bc he forgot her name, THIS IS SO CRINGY THIS DIALOGUE IS AWFUL, the tender sweet moments feel unearned and out of place, I've never seen a book try harder to have banter, watch out "velvet wrapped steel" bc "silk covered iron" is making it's way through (somehow totally new but also unoriginal), and immediately after a beloved side character dies- "[character] was a bitch, but they were our bitch." Literally wtf.
