It feels good to close out the year with a fantasy that's part nostalgic and part refreshing. This book is very reminiscent of the classical fantasy elements, be it the interplay between different fantasy races of elves, dwarves, and giants, the soft magic system, or the placement of a dragon in the midst of it all. I'm glad I gave this book a shot and would be checking out the sequel.
