This was a snoozefest. The concept was really intriguing but the way Koontz went about it sucked all of the fear and intrigue out. It was very repetitive and I was bored. I also don't understand why we got so much information about Michael Render when it didn't matter literally at all. A lot of the background information was completely useless, actually, not just the bits about Molly's father.
I also HATE divine intervention type shit in books, and this is the second book of Dean Koontz's I've read that exercises that "divine intervention" through a dog. It's not a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice. And I won't allow it to be a third time. I will DNF from here on out if I find any magical dogs.
And that's not even mentioning how somehow everyone knew exactly what was going on with the world immediately after it started happening. But I'm ready to forget that I ever read this book, so I'm done talking about it.
