The book had a slow start and took a little while for me to really get into the story! I enjoyed the occasional email and text formats interwoven throughout. I did find that the romance happened too quickly for me personally. I like a slow burn romance so I felt the characters got together unbelievably quickly. Especially considering certain aspects of the characters.
I did love the enemies to lovers trope as it’s one of my favorites!
Great dialogue from McQuiston that made me laugh and cry. The pacing dragged a bit throughout the novel which made it hard to want to pick up the book. The characters are well written, if a tiny bit underdeveloped.
Not my fave novel of theirs, that title is still held by I Kissed Shara Wheeler, and I’m looking forward to reading One Last Stop soon! Overall it was a cute feel good story, but I think I had too high expectations because it’s so hyped so was a little let down.
Graphic: Sexual content and Outing
Moderate: Homophobia, Grief, and Death of parent
Minor: Drug use and Panic attacks/disorders
