Guardian (Spirits' War, #2) by K.V. Wilson
5.0
This book, like its predecessor, is an emotional, gripping, complex journey that will leave readers hanging off a cliff waiting for the third installment to save them from the suspense. The characters that K.V. Wilson began writing in Book One become even more developed (it's possible!), and the plot twists and turns kept my heart pounding through the entire read. This book improves upon Spritborne in a major way—it gives a larger backstory and motives for its antagonists. Many authors struggle with pulling off sympathetic antagonists while keeping readers rallied with the protagonists against them, but Wilson has pulled it off every step of the way. She once again reveals her incredible knowledge and understanding of mythology and ability to create a rich world while never once slowing the story down. Don't let life slip by without reading this incredible story.
