I have a huge appreciation for Daphne duMaurier's Rebecca so I was equal parts excited and unnerved when I heard about the "modern retelling", The Winters.
I didn't need to worry, it was a fantastic read! Faithful in tone to the original but with an updated writing style, and references to the original book that laid the basis for a whole other tale. Small details were not overlooked and yet the broadstrokes made for a different and entirely enjoyable thriller.
I loved this and it's a big recommend for those who are fans of the original Rebecca. Well done, Lisa Gabriele!
