Thank you so much to the author, Lilliana Rose Hastings, for giving me the opportunity to be an arc reader for her book!
The Consequences of Falling is one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read that I truly struggle to find the right words to describe how much this book means to me. This book is the embodiment of true love. It is a shimmering star in a world of darkness. It’s one of the most breathtakingly, beautiful books that I’ve ever had a pleasure of reading. Such a masterpiece that I felt bad for even reading it.
I’m not usually one who enjoys contemporary romances. I tend to find that they lack complexity in plot and setting compared to fantasy so I tend to stay away from them. But this book… This was such a complex and stunning novel. The setting was so beautifully described and so aesthetic that I wish I lived there. The characters were unique and broken and beautiful, much like real people. Nothing about the characters lives were perfect and yet that’s what made this read perfect. Because this is real life. People struggle and they hurt others and they get hurt but if you hope and look towards something brighter everything will be okay.
The romance between Atlas and Nova was so beautiful to read about. Watching them grow and change and yet stay the same with each other was lovely. Their relationship is everything I want for myself and more. Words can’t describe how obsessed I am with all the characters in this book.
I loved the author’s beautiful writing and unique descriptions. As someone who’s had her fair share of obsessing over the stars and moon and space in general I found this book to be so amazing. I appreciate the author’s pacing and shorter chapters for this book. I never felt bored or felt like it was dragging on. I really enjoyed the unique dual pov where it kinda switched between the characters in each chapter. I found it to be very well written and made so much sense for the story. Just the way this whole book was written was lovely, I’ve never read anything quite like it with the pov changes and the interludes etc. I really enjoyed it and hope to find more books written in a format like this in the future. Honestly I think this book deserves an award. I think it should be considered a classic one day.
Overall, this was such a beautiful and amazing read that I 100% recommend. I can’t wait for book 2!
Once again thank you so much to the author for trusting me with your beautiful novel.
