The Squickerwonkers by Evangeline Lilly

I hadn't heard anything about this book until I saw it on the shelf at my library. I loved the illustrations and the feel of the book, then realised who the author was.

I was sucked in straight away and thought this book was delightfully creepy. It reminded me of Neil Gaiman, but was also a very original idea. The poetry added to the book's quirkyness, and WOW those illustrations - AMAZING!

Even though people may think this is a picture book for children, I don't recommend anyone buy it for children under the age of 10. Depending on your child, they may be able handle the themes but this is more for older children.
