What I liked

  • Old forgotten magic, ancient warriors, darkness vs the light, multiple narrators
  • the author knows how to keep the reader on their toes with some fun twists throughout the whole story and you never really feel like you could relax - the characters are always in the middle of something insane haha
  • I’ve read some reviews and no one is talking about Cyprian??? WHY?? I actually love him and want to hug him haha.. poor soul
Some things I didn’t like:
  • I had some trouble with the writing style - there was so much foreshadowing and repetition of old dialogue to ‘set the mood’ of this mythical ancient kingdom - but sometimes it was to much.
  • So much was going on - this felt like almost two books?? WHICH IS SO FUNNY - bc her first book in the captive prince trilogy is the complete opposite - it was maybe 240 pages and ended so quickly. But yeah, they were always on the move to the next thing and the next thing - so nothing ever really settled. And sometimes it felt like the book skipped scenes.

But however the story was so intriguing and I really want to know what will happen next?? Will def read the next book when it comes out
