I love this author. I think I've said it since I read his first book, in that kind of autobiography, that I feel his writing style is different, more... fresh maybe? Or lighter, I don't know, it's hard to determine, but he touches on topics that are difficult to talk about and yet he manages to give them a touch of humor, lightens them a bit and takes away the heaviness, the anguish that is sometimes very heavy to digest. .
In this case, we have Sam, who we met on [b:Winning His Vote|62671512|Winning His Vote (Nashville Spicy, #1)|Casey Morales|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1663695210l/62671512._SY75_.jpg|98433237] as Joe's friend with benefits, one of the MCs in that book. Sam is a joy to read. Despite not having luck in love, and believing that he is not destined to have it in his life, he maintains a positive attitude, and although he works more than he should, he enjoys his work. .
And then we have Miguel, our sexy and smiling police officer. Although his dream was to play baseball, he leaves his career behind to continue the family tradition. He suffers the consequences of his work but keeps it quiet until Sam finds out and offers his support, giving him the courage to seek help.
From the moment they meet, due to a police case Miguel is working on, sparks fly between them, and Miguel doesn't hesitate to let Sam know that he feels attracted to him.
I like that from the beginning they both maintain an honest relationship, and despite the doubts that both have due to their previous failures, they manage to communicate. It's a rapidly developing relationship, but no less significant for that, and it's accompanied by a good police case, perhaps a bit predictable but well developed.
I also like the secondary characters, both Tyler and Donna, they so different but they bring fun and freshness to the story, and also a great support for the two main characters.
