Nostalgia by Mircea Cărtărescu
5.0
What can you say about this book? It's magical realism? Indeed. Its paragraphs are dense, sometimes at the border of unreadability? Yes. Do Cartarescu like to toy with his readers? I don't know. But I can't deny that his writing call something very profound within me. Memories of shared places an ocean apart. Magic inside ruins, inside the boring everyday, just a little bit outside the corner of what one can see. Cartarescu is a master of building things up, of creating the impossible in the common. Bravo again, maestro.
