The Brain: The Story of You by David Eagleman

4.0

"So what is reality? It's like a television show than only you can see, and you can't turn it off. The good news is that it happens to be broadcasting the most interesting show you could ask for: edited, personalized, and presented just for you."

This is an example of what's awaiting you: illustrative metaphors, cases and insights into a fascinating scientific field.
It's an interesting topic and also well written. I learned a few things. Some parts I skipped / only skimmed through because there was nothing new for me but I guess for someone who doesn't know a lot about neuroscience it's perfect.

I especially liked the last part (Who will we be?) about (im)mortality, consciousness, brain simulations and the VEST. It's an extremely fascinating and thought provoking chapter. So all in all a really good popular science book.
