Most Ali Hazelwood books are not for me and so I wasn’t expecting to like this one either. Eli’s perspective really, really ate at me. I almost DNF’d because of how clawing and achingly repetitive his parts were. Basically “Rue is so round and voluptuous sexy and soft and fuckable” over and over and over. Like… yes I got it.

I actually found the plot of this book to be one of the more compelling ones from her books and I found myself relating to the FMC much more than usual.

I just really… really can’t get past how banal Hazelwood writes a male perspective of desire.
