The Wife by Meg Wolitzer
3.0
Joan Castleman, wife to Joseph Castleman, met while he was her professor. Married and with a child, Joan becomes the mistress, homewrecker with the believe that she's special enough to change him. The Wife is a culmination of her time with Joseph and her brutal realization that she changed nothing. Given the space to finally speak her truth, the ending hits hard and I walked away not knowing who I even liked in the story. While I liked it well enough, the ending left me unsatisfied and frustrated. The Wife has been turned into a movie that I haven't watched but plan to soon.
