This is peak teen poetry angst. I think I would have rated this book higher when I was 15 (in a serious way, not a discrediting way). This spooky, dark academia story has a gnarly, poetically tilted way to describe literally everything. The grief, soul searching, and mental struggles in this story keep it interesting for me. CW for body horror. Also I think the gross grimy foresty descriptions were pretty repetitive. Personally I think the storyline is better than the writing.
