I ended up not finishing her Chestnut Spring series because I just wasn't into it anymore but on a whim I decided to start this book and I ended up reading it in one sitting. It was so good. Ford was so dreamy. No wonder he's Cade's brother.

I loved the longing and pining from Ford. With that said I was on the precipice of feeling frustrated with it all but Elsie said enough of this in the moment I needed her to. I loved their bickering and to see how much Ford was truly there for her since they were teens and she just never saw it that way.
I also sort of loved the way he became a single parent. It was a very unique situation. I also loved the kid too.
I loved the friendship Rosie formed with the kid too.

Rosie has been living for others basically. She hates disappointing others so she just goes along with it until she realizes it and said enough so she decided to go back home to find herself again.
I loved that she only felt more like herself again once she started bickering with Ford.
I loved seeing them ( more Rosie than Ford because he was in love with her since forever) fall in love and I loved how balanced they made each other.

All in all I loved reading another Elsie book that I loved and I'm intrigued for the next one.
