Bell Hooks is one of my favorite authors regarding social issues. She served as an introduction to sociology and and gender issues, specifically regarding race. This book was very eye opening as it sheds a strong light on relationships dynamics when abuse is in play. I experienced this book in audio form read by the author which added to the overall experience.
