The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year by Ally Carter

5.0

This book was everything. Phenomenal. This review will not even be able to do it justice. I loved it so much. You know that moment when you know the book you’re reading is going to be so amazing it’ll be one to stick with you for a long time and become a top recommendation? That moment was within the first 5% of this book for me. This book was SO. GOOD. I could not put it down.

The banter was so witty and clever. As was the overall premise of the book. The whodunnit mystery + will they won’t they + tortured past(s) was all so smart, so incredibly well done. I thought my heart was gonna fall out of my butt at one point.

It was like if Clue x Knives Out + Murder She Wrote = The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year

If I wasn’t married I’d want my own Ethan Wyatt. The Marcie backstory? God dammit, my heart. He was just the sweetest, swoon-worthiest MMC I’ve read in a long, long time…and I read A LOT.

This will be an ongoing comfort read for sure.

Now…anyone know where I can get some special editions for my trophy shelf?
