I'm not crying, YOU'RE crying. This was such a funny, cute, adorable book. I couldn't help but smile every other paragraph. The found (queer) family trope, the miscommunication trope that was funny and wasn't as annoying as it could've been, the characters, the plot. I saw one review that said "This would be Merlin if the creators were brave enough to make them get together" and I agree a 100%. There were flaws in this book I'm sure but it was such a perfect read to me since it's been a while since I read anything YA and I forgot how fun it could be to just read about teenagers being dumb.
Another thing that contributed a lot to my overflowing love for this book is that I read the other author's work "In Deeper Waters" and I didn't really like that so going into this I was not expecting much. After the first chapter, I knew I had something I would end up loving in my hands. I was nervous that it would end up being bad halfway through, speaking from experience, and it did NOT. Thank the book gods.
With all that said, I'm looking forward to reading another one of F.T. Lukens books.
