I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

5.0

I really loved both reading and listening to her life's story it shows all the pain and uncertainty she faced while also saying by the end there was a light at the end of the tunnel. The story of her life was so well told even if some parts were difficult for me to get through I loved how she wrote it. This book tells of every bit of pain she went through all of the issues she had in life in great detail in a wonderfully emotional way that showed how long it took her to realize many things about her life and her mother. The story of her life starts early with her telling the things about her family and most of all her mother how she was forced into acting it was never her choice her mother was living vicariously through her and everything else about her acting the struggles she went though with anorexia and bulimia some relationship issues and what it took to put her life the way she wants it to be so that she can live her life how she wants with no one controlling her in any way. I loved reading about Jennette herself I was never a fan of any of the things she acted in but I was interested in her story and why she felt that way about her mother. So overall I loved this memoir it was a wonderful read.
