Oh goodness. The hype around The Last House On Needless Street is bang-on.
Thank you to Tor Nightfire for my gifted copy for review!
Ted lives a generally quiet and secluded life, in his house on Needless Street. He exists in the shadow of memories of Mommy and Daddy; long gone.
Chapters of Ted alternate with Lauren, Olivia and their new neighbour. Dee has Iived with the pain of her sister's disappearance for too many years and needs closure.
I knew very little of what this book was about when I started. It doesn't take long to realize something is off-kilter. But what? Allusions and layers unfold through the narrative, never spelling out full details until the bigger picture becomes evident.
The appeal of The Last House On Needless Street is equal parts gorgeous, immersive writing and unsettling, emotional storyline. Altogether heartbreaking and memorable. Consider me an instant member of the Catriona Ward author fan base.
Looking to usher in spooky season with literary horror? Absolutely recommended!
 For release on Sept. 28.
