Ya’ll…this is book is so sweet. I really really enjoyed it and also highly recommend it to anyone who suffers from anxiety.

The Sad Ghost Club follows Sam (or SG) as he struggles with anxious thoughts surrounding a party that he (regretfully) agreed to go to. It’s a simple premise but one that works effectively and does what it needs to.

This is a book that I feel really captured what it felt like to deal with anxiety/social anxiety. So much so that I literally felt like I was just reading my own thoughts from a cartoon ghost. It didn’t feel like the author was yelling ‘THIS GHOST HAS ANXIETY, DO YOU GET IT?’, and didn’t make it all over dramatic to make you see how anxious the ghost is.

The story is presented in beautiful, yet simple art that I just absolutely loved!

(SPOILER!!) The one drawback is that - at times - I found it difficult to differentiate the ghosts from each other as they basically looked the same.

But overall, it was a strong start to a series and I can’t wait to read the next volume!
