Bride by Ali Hazelwood

2.5

I was excited to read this for two reasons. One, I'd just read my first Ali Hazlewood and had gotten on well with it. Second, urban fantasy is my bread and butter!
I'm a bit shit at reviewing books so grain, or bucket, of salt please.
Misery, a mc, is thought of (including by self) as a terrible vampyre. Why is she a terrible vampyre to be hated by all? Who knows, cause we don't after finishing the whole book.
The mustache twirling villain situation, no thanks.
The "sex talk" with knotting talk was weird, not sexy. (happy reader of all levels of spice, including scifi/monster here)
I think this is an unfinished book that's missed the review & edit process.
I won't continue with this series.

If you want an urban fantasy that do this so much better (some dated, problematic suggestions):
Anita Blake by Laurel Hamilton
Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews
Mercy Thompson by Patricia Briggs
Midnight TX or Gunnie Rose by Charlaine Harris
