I started watching the show while I was on the hold list for this book and I’m glad I did. I feel like Carr isn’t big on description, so having the show visuals (characters AND the gorgeous scenery) helped me enjoy the book more. Funny enough, I actually like the book better than the show, which has dragged on into a ridiculous soap opera. But I tried to read some later Virgin River books while I waited for this one, and they were so bland. I think Carr’s writing style is too basic and not engaging enough for me.
