Got just past the halfway point, and I'm giving up. I've been reading for almost two months, and every word has been agonizing. I only picked it up for a book club, and since the time to finish it has passed, I don't have any reason to keep going. I just don't see any appeal in this. It's pure torture porn but worse because it's dogs. I can't believe we make children read this.
