This was one hell of a ride. Like I don’t even know what to say except that this is what I think of when I originally hard of dark romance. It’s love and romance in a way that isn’t conventional between unconventional people. Not shock value brutality. It’s the hopeless romantic believe that love can conquer, can change, and cure. This was beautiful written and well paced, Rodriguez has you riding the razor edge of anxiety until you almost can’t stand it anymore before she offers you sweet HEA relief. At times I felt Abel’s frustration so acutely I wanted to shake Rose! But his love and obsession forced you to see and sympathize with her even when you might not have wanted to. The twist at the end was perfect. I am so excited to dive into more of her work.
