The Diving Pool: Three Novellas by Yōko Ogawa
4.0
Tbh, the suspense was real in all these novellas which keeps the reader hooked till the end. The whole feeling of something sinister going on is the best part. However, the way these stories end leave you wanting moreee. The ending of second novella left me shook and I was like why did she even think that but yes, the cruel aspect of human beings is depicted wonderfully. The third novella had me asking what actually happened to the students.
It was an interesting collection of novellas despite being a little absurd as in case of most of the Japanese fiction. It is the weirdness and absurdity that keeps me hooked. Even if I don’t fully comprehend the thought process.
