One Child: The True Story of a Tormented Six-Year-Old and the Brilliant Teacher Who Reached Out by Torey Hayden

5.0

'Underneath it all her marvelous core of joy and courage gleamed.' This was the book that got me into Special Education, and, as with all books of this subject matter, it only affects me more emotionally the older I get. Highly readable and a compulsive story, you'll fall in love with Sheila and adore Torey for her neverending love, patience and loyalty towards a child who survived the unspeakable.
