'What could it all mean? A locked enclosure on a lonely island, a notorious vivisector, and these crippled and distorted men?'
This is a seriously messed up story full of body horror, tension, and mystery. Yet despite the gorey and gruesome subject matter, this book is so beautifully written and compelling and readable! I loved it so much!! Also, the last line had me wanting to hug this book to my chest.
'By this time I was no longer very much terrified or very miserable. I had, as it were, passed the limit of terror and despair.'
