Devils Kill Devils by Johnny Compton

3.0

This is my first book by Johnny Compton and I really enjoyed the intenseness of his writing. Sarita has had several near death experiences in her life, but each time, her Guardian Angel is there to save her. From drowning in the Gulf of Mexico to a near miss car accident, the angel she's nicknamed Angelo has very different motivations when she shows up on her honeymoon.

The first few chapters of the book were intense and compelling, but I felt the middle and ending had too much going on. With the addition of vampire's, Cela, prophesies and the occult, the writing was less defined and a little chaotic.

Overall I liked the story, but I did struggle with the pacing.

Thank you Tor Nightfire for the gifted ARC.
