Five stars simply aren't enough for this book!! It grabbed me from the first page and hasn't let go, even after finishing it. I'm someone who typically shies away from stories that hit too close to home – reading is my escape, after all. But something about "Out of Time" called to me, and I'm so glad I listened.

While Mrs. Kellar's struggles with hoarding and dementia were, admittedly, a difficult read (as that hit a little too close to home for me), it was Max's story that truly shattered me.  I rarely cry real tears while reading, but they flowed freely, unexpectedly, as I learned about his journey.  I was completely unfamiliar with retinitis pigmentosa before this book, and I sincerely hope "Out of Time" shines a bright light on this condition and brings it the awareness it deserves.

Beyond the heavier themes, the heart of this book lies in the beautiful connection between Max and Remi.  Watching their relationship unfold, as they vulnerably shared their challenging childhoods and upbringings, was pure magic. They became everything the other needed, a testament to the power of love and understanding.  "Out of Time" is a powerful, emotional, and ultimately uplifting story that will stay with me for a long time.  Highly, highly recommended.
