Never Keep lived up to my high expectations for the Twisted Sisters newest dark romantasy series.
What to expect:
π€ Dark fantasy romance / romantasy
π€ 1st person, multi POV
π€ Fae, shifters & more
π€ War, battles, secrets & magic
π€ Bada** FMCs & morally black MMCs
π€ Enemies to lovers
π€ Found family
π€ Witty banter
π€ SPICEEEEE
This book is set in the same world as the Zodiac Academy series but is a brand new story. You don't have to read the Zodiac Academy series first to get into this series, but it helped me jump into the story faster than someone who has never read the Twisted Sister's work.
What did I love about this book?
π The Twisted Sisters immediately throw you into this series with a battle scene, and I wasn't bored for a single second even though this book is just shy of 700 pages.
π I love the character development of the two FMCs and to see how their stories are unfoldingβI personally LOVE the way the Twisted Sisters write their 1st person POV because it feels like an internal monologue and further builds up the characters personalities.
π I gobble up the way the Twisted Sisters write romance, chemistry, and spice scenes.
π I didn't know where they were taking this seriesβwho to trust, who would betray, and who would survive. The last 100 pages had me gasping and crying (already?!).
π The found family trope in this book is *chefs kiss*
π I was concerned the storylines and characters would feel too similar to ZA since Never Keep feels very similar to ZA because it's a war/training academy, but this series feels unique and stands on its own.
I cannot wait to see where this story goes, and I'm begging for book 2 already.
A sincere thank you to Caroline and Susanne for the physical ARC. This book comes out September 24, 2024.
