A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

Personally, I loved this book. I've seen a lot of hate because nothing happens, but it's supposed to be a filler piece. I loved seeing what the characters were up to and how they were dealing with life after the war. After everything that happened to them, they deserve time to come to terms with things. I did feel bad for Tamlin, but that in no way excuses everything he's done.
Spoiler He's finally come to terms with what a piece of shit he is and deserves to suffer for it. However, I'm the type of person that can feel compassion while still enjoying his suffering.

This felt like a fanfic to me but in the best possible way. I live for the fanfics that give us a glimpse into characters lives. The ones that hint at something more to come in a sequel, but let the characters be themselves for a bit without someone trying to kill them. It had a calm-before-the-storm feeling to it, and I loved it.
