Daddy's Gone A Hunting by Mary Higgins Clark

I used to be a huge MHC fan. Hers were some of the first adult books I read way back when I was around 12 yrs old. I haven't kept up entirely with her recent work, but I was excited to read this one. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The book felt very choppy--short chapters, too much repetition, clunky dialogue, and too many coincidences. Any time a character has to quote Byron about truth being stranger than fiction (in a work of fiction) it should be a sign that you've taken things too far into the realm of strange coincidence. I think from here out, I may have to pass on MHC's future offerings.
