WOW! I LOVE this book!! What was I waiting for all these years? I had never read any of the books and I haven't seen any of the movies. I barely knew that it was something about a boy magician and whatever words I heard here and there because it is so popular. Usually, I read more realistic fiction and classics, so I haven't read much fantasy or middle school literature.
A teacher, who's also a good friend, at my work got me into some fantasy reading, and a couple weeks ago she also lent me to read Harry Potter's first book. I doubted I would like it much, but I wanted to read it just to see what the fuss is all about.

I was in for a big surprise! This is a very clever and impressively well written book that I couldn't put down. Rowling's writing style is so vivid and effortless that makes unrealistic characters and events feel realistic. I absolutely loved it and I'm so glad I gave it a chance. I'm looking forward to starting the 2nd book this week!
