Magic Mayhem and Madness: A Historical Time travel Romance by Melodia Moreno, Melodia Moreno

5.0

I enjoyed this time-travel romance. The protagonist, Gilliana, was selfless and spunky. Her flaws made her relatable and endearing. Gill found herself in 1600s U.S. amongst a group of Lakota men, two of which began to fall in love with her. One spoke some English and the other did not--the language barrier was interesting to see as they had to find unique ways to get the meanings across. The Indigenous representation was beautiful (I don't know a huge amount about the Lakota and Mohawk tribes, but it's clear the author holds a great respect for the peoples and their culture). I was unsure about how time-traveling in Scotland would cause Gill to end up in the U.S., but I suppose the Earth's rotation could be a factor (too bad time-travel isn't a thing so we can't know for sure). That cliffhanger left me wanting more and I'm looking forward to book two.
(In regards to the editing others are mentioning, I have the updated version and it reads smoothly. There are still minor things, such as missing apostrophes, but they aren't too distracting.)
