Learned by Heart by Emma Donoghue

While this ended up being very different from what I was expecting, I really enjoyed it nonetheless. As ever, Donodhue's writing is clever, beautiful and addictive. This story is definitely on the slower side and while I almost thought it would lose me, it never actually did. It's definitely a homage to a group of people and so almost feels slice of life in its style. By the end, I was utterly wrecked and couldn't stop sobbing throughout the author's note, even up to the dedication. Very grateful for this important little book. <3
