The Perfect Husband by Lisa Gardner

3.0

This book is the first the author wrote in the FBI profiler series (Quincy). I wanted to love this book the way I’ve enjoyed the ones she’s written more recently. It started off ok with the typical twisted psychopath bad guy and fragile but growing stronger female protagonist. Overall, the book was still enjoyable and the plot moved along quickly. I read it in almost one sitting. What I didn’t care for as much were the overwrought and overly salacious/romance novel sex scenes. I read somewhere that Lisa Gardner used to write romance books under a different name and it shows. It seemed her writing in general was less developed than it is in later books. Like she hadn’t fully come into her style yet. I’m about to read another early book in the DD Warren series. I’m interested to see if it follows the same vein or not.
