the way tartt is able to weave scenes - out of order, but in perfect time - to create her story is incredibly deft. i was skeptical about the book bc of the cover and the tiktok girlies hyping it, and was pleasantly surprised to enjoy it.
that twincest was ... not necessary tho. nor do i think the scene with the racist auto repair guy was. i'm sure there were other ways to prove that he was an unreliable witness
