This was a book I couldn’t put down until I’d finished it and then went back to certain sections to peruse and ponder in more detail. Compassionate and courageous, my inner kids give it all the thumbs up!
Graphic: Death, Mental illness, Panic attacks/disorders, Blood, Grief, Death of parent, and Gaslighting
Moderate: Misogyny, Self harm, Sexism, Violence, Murder, Gaslighting, and War
Minor: Rape, Medical content, Car accident, and Injury/Injury detail
Though I approached this book with hesitation, due to an aversion to violent and tragic stories, the author’s gentle discretion (and how did he manage that???) and arc toward healing enabled me to stay with the story and appreciate the insights I gained about healing from trauma.
