Assassin's Quest by Robin Hobb
5.0
I’m so happy I gave The Farseer Trilogy another chance because this time, I loved it! The trilogy includes three very different books: first we get quite a rushed overview of the main character Fitz’s childhood and upbringing (Assassin’s Apprentice), next we experience slow burn political intrigue that leans on chapter long conversations (The Royal Assassin) and finally, there’s Assassin’s Quest - a true brick of a book where so much happens that reading it feels almost exhausting. Almost. Sure there are times I wanted a break from the action, but it also feels appropriate that as the finale approaches, things turn more hectic and intense. And the finale is fantastic. If I didn’t know there were 13 more books, I might be wholly satisfied by it. Knowing there’s still loads to come however, makes me question everything I read.
