The Woman in Me by Britney Spears
3.0
I’m flummoxed by this book. It’s like Spears has a split personality - if I only knew Spears from the book, I would find her to be thoughtful, articulate, and self aware. But when I see her on Instagram, she seems unstable, immature, and attention-seeking. Either she had a fantastic ghost writer who portrayed Spears in the best possible light, or Spears actually is smart and just portrays herself on IG as an exhibitionist. One thing is clear - her family absolutely took advantage of her naïveté.
Michelle Williams’ reading of the book was excellent, and it definitely affected how I heard the strength in Spears’ words.
