4.5

Let me preface this review: I chose to read this book immediately after The Awakening. Do I recommend doing the same? Yes and no. Yes— I LOVE the different POVs from the boys, especially after dealing with their behavior in The Awakening. No—this book is a true retelling with almost identical scenes and identical dialogue, making it hard to get through at times and resulting in me skimming the dialogue.

I'm so happy the Twisted Sisters chose to write this book because I really appreciated the boys POVs. This book is told in 1st person, multi POV. I especially loved Darius and Orion POVs since I was torn on how they acted after reading the prequel ahead of the Awakening.

Overall, I enjoyed this book but somewhat regret when I read it. If I could go back, I would have tandem read this with The Awakening to have had all the POVs at once. This book would also be better read during a reread.
