This was a dense read, but was made more accessible by being oriented around the personal stories of several key people involved in the various gay liberation movements of the 60s. It was really thorough and detailed, which I particularly appreciated for a history of an event and time period so steeped in legend. And I absolutely lived for all the political discourse that was captured among all the various players in the movement. It felt incredibly heartening and inspiring for the time we find ourselves in now.
