All the words on the cover are true: Breathtaking, Dazzling, Enchanting! In fact, those really are the words that I would use to describe this book - the plot is undeniably ingenious, and it feels like a crime being revealed at the end of a Christie novel. There are mysteries inside of mysteries inside of mysteries; some continue even after the conclusion of the novel.

Celia Bowen is a masterful character - she is strong willed and resilient even when faced with the animosity of the challenge that Prospero the Enchanter and, the ominous, Mr A H set her up with. Spending her childhood being groomed by her father, forever bound to a nameless individual until a day twenty years later, when she auditions for the role of Illusionist at Les Cirques Des Reves!

Marco Alisdair has known who his competitor was from the moment she stepped into the room, he had the upper hand from a certain point of view. Deceitful could be used to describe Marco, however, he is layed like many characters.

Erin Morgenstern creates an atmospheric novel dripping in description to make an altogether unique experience for the reader. All the senses are engaged throughout this mystical novel.
