Witch Please by Ann Aguirre

Did not finish book. Stopped at 15%.
Well, I think Ann’s writing isn’t for me as this book turned me off from the beginning unfortunately.
Couldn’t read past chapter 17 as I felt that Danika is a frustrated & frustrating character, so I’ve DNF’d this book that cost me around a wasted IMO $10 & has me frustrated all over again.
Please note! I have given this book months of tries to finally get to this point.
Issues I had with the story (after finally reading reviews) :
1. D’s disrespectful attitude & thoughts regarding her mother maddened me as they only reflected what her grandmother had impressed on her
2. Clementine’s outright animosity toward D & her choices, that only lessens once she gets sufficient groveling submission is again despicable behavior!
3. the fact that it’s an insta-love story with a LOT of additional fluff that doesn’t build/fix characters or their relationships with other characters
4. the use of the word “mundane” felt VERY derogatory to me the reader
5. Titus & Maya are the ONLY characters I felt drawn to & I like my main characters to have chemistry, all T & D seemed to have was sexual chemistry which didn’t help
6. I know the book ends with a HFN & instead of an HEA which seems like a scam tactic so readers will pick up the next story.
7. Apparently, I didn’t stick with it long enough to find out some serious things about grandma & mom. My issue here is that fluff isn’t needed for word count if a writer is actually good at what they do & there are plenty of reviewers who say this of her writing but also that this book had way too much unnecessary fluff. Just like it being frustrating for the main couple to finally get together at or after 70% of the book, it’s just as frustrating when other info takes FOREVER to come out.

Lastly, I HIGHLY recommend you read reviews & that includes the negative ones to get a well rounded idea if this the book/series for you!!
