Let me remember how to breathe after finishing this before writing my review because I can’t seem to remember right now
Okay, I have to be real I was expecting more - I think because of all the hype that was surrounding the book when it came out, but it could also be because I’m used to a more complex, storyline and writing style with more unsuspecting twists.
I was pretty much hooked from the beginning, because I was very excited to see what all the hype was about, but the writing and the storyline itself was good, the character dynamic between Paedyn and Kai had me sucked right into the book.
AND THAT ENDING OHMYGOSH, I STARED AT A WALL IN SILENCE FOR A COUPLE MINUTES
I guess the reason I’ve only given it four stars is because I was expecting more flesh between Paedyn and Kitt, and more flesh surrounding Payden and her recruitment into and with the Resistance, which could be because this book reads very similarly to Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard where those aspects are actually more fleshed out.
