Stalked But Not Afraid by Nicole Dykes

ARC Review.

Another great book from this great author, [a:Nicole Dykes|13701591|Nicole Dykes|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1451592169p2/13701591.jpg] [b:Stalked But Not Afraid|61031508|Stalked But Not Afraid (Spark of Hope, #2)|Nicole Dykes|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1658231047l/61031508._SY75_.jpg|96176091] is the second book in the Spark of Hope series, and is the story of Roman, Ben's brother, and Brooks, a friend of Summer and Ben's ex.

Roman is a dedicated tough cop, and unlike Ben, he doesn't want to save THE world, but since he carries his own past traumas due to his family situation, and feels guilty that he wasn't there when Ben needed him most, he does want to make a difference.
Brooks is an influencer and... something more, and this is where his problems with the stalker begin.

What do these two people have in common? Their stubborness!!! And of course, their great chemistry, even though at first, they try to resist each other (unsuccesfully, have to say).

Brooks doesn't want to feel like a victim, he doesn't recognize himself as such, so he has a hard time asking for and accepting help, especially from Roman, whom Brooks misjudges because he reminds him of the bullies from his past.

But as the stalker gets closer, Brooks realizes that he needs his help and Roman is more than willing to give it to him. Together they come up with an original and hot idea for the stalker to come out, while enjoying each other.

The only thing I can say that I would have liked more is for the author to expand a little on what was happening with the stalker. How had he managed to stay in the shadows for so long, etc. But that is already a personal taste of mine, which does not affect how well written this story is.

I love this series and how it deals with mental health and possible trauma from the past.

I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.
