Overall , I enjoyed this book. Phoebe was an enjoyable character and her experiences were relatable even though I’m not in her life stage (aka not married, haven’t attempted to have kids, etc.) Lila was unlikeable and likeable at the same time, a good contrast to Phoebe. I truly would love to see this book into a movie mostly to see Lila’s character play out- she’s funny and so out of touch It’s interesting and sad to me how quick some people are to marry simply because they’re lonely. I really like Gary and also how was he so ready to marry someone who made no attempt to have a relationship with his daughter? But I am assuming he may be stuck in his depression and truly thought Lila was different. I really liked the ending; don’t get me wrong I would have loved to see Phoebe end up with Gary with a happily ever after; and we never know where life is taking us so it’s nice to leave with that unknown as well.
