"we heal when we can be with what we feel."

as someone who has had a fairly negative view of my own body as I struggled with health issues and former eating disorders, this book helped me recognize that my body is my own and that I can love myself through it all.

we see our bodies as separate entities from our minds, but the truth uncovered in this book is that our bodies are us, and the mind-body connection is so so important. we need to change how we talk to our bodies and give ourselves grace and forgiveness, and to thank our bodies for all that they do for us.

Favorite chapters were definitely:
- You Are Not Broken: A New Perspective on Pain
- Pleasure and Enjoyment: The Sensual and the Sexual Body
- The Body Overwhelmed: Healing the Body from Stress and Trauma

The Wisdom of Your Body definitely helped me forge a new relationship with myself and I am so grateful to McBride for it!
